Although we don’t have a big house, or fancy cars, we have each other. All 8 of us will be cramped in our 2-bedroom apartment, stuck together for maybe a year or two… but that doesn’t matter, because although this home may be small, it is filled with joy and laughter and silliness, and that’s all that really matters.
And no, Santa and the Easter Bunny won’t be real. Papa and I have agreed to be honest with you, maybe we are wrong, maybe not. But this is what we decided. We want to be open and true with you.
I will never hide my past from you, because my past is what made me who I am today. When you are old enough, I will talk to you about mistakes I made and decisions I took, without which I wouldn’t be where I am today, with you in my arms, in the peace and quiet of the woods, with the man I love and a new member on their way. But you, my sweet pea, will never be a mistake, nor a bad decision. You are the best decision I have ever made.
Some days are hard, some days are easy, but every day is worth it when I wake up with you by my side.
